  • Heat 1 cup of water. Do not bring it to boiling point. Switch off before that stage.
  • Add 1 tsp green tea and brew it for about 2-3 minutes. If you brew it longer, the the tea will taste bitter, so just 2-3 minutes is sufficient.
  • Strain the tea into a cup.
  • Add honey and a few drops of lemon juice to taste. Enjoy it piping hot!!
  • Note - Do not add milk for this tea. Also avoid adding sugar as it is not good for health.
  • Adding 2-3 fresh mint leaves gives a minty flavor to the tea.
  • Water temperature should be slightly below boiling point to reduce bitterness.

  • People with peptic ulcer or acid reflux,diarrhoea and IBS should limit the consumption of green tea, as the tannins and caffeine present in it increases the stomach acid, and may cause stomach ache, nauseous feeling, constipation , worsen diarrhoea, and symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome ( IBS )
  • Avoid taking green tea on an empty stomach
